Details: | The operator informed me that after investigating the cause of the E. Coli positive samples, the system found out they had a chlorinator that was not working. No chlorine was being injected into the system. The operator contacted 541 Water company for technical assistance. The chlorinator was repaired on Saturday and chlorine is being added to the water. Additional water samples will be collected. The boil advisory will be lifted when sample results show absence of coliform contamination. A copy of the boil advisory will be provided via email. Once the boil is lifted, the operator was advised to flush pipes and faucets, automatic ice makers, hot water heaters, water coolers, in line filters and other appliances with direct water connections, or tanks. Update 07/19/2024: The operator submitted a copy of the public notice posted on 7.15.2024. The notice was missing specific information on the situation that caused the E. coli MCL, a description of the actions taken to address the issue and the operators contact information. The operator was instructed to edit the public notice, re-post it, and submit a copy of the final version. Lifted 07/19/2024: The operator notified me that the issue that caused the E. coli positive was identified as a bad chlorinator. The chlorinator was fix and a water sample was collected. Water sample Lab result came back absent of coliform contamination. Boil notice lifted. |
