Details: | On Sunday October 6th the city had a low water level issue with the cemetery reservoir. Public Works (PW) was notified at around 6:30 am of the low pressure issue in which PW employees responded to check on the issue. A call came in around 7:00am about a no water issue at 191 SW Walnut Ave. (other calls came in as well). PW staff investigated the problem and found that the altitude valve at the cemetery reservoir failed to open and allowed the reservoir to run low. PW staff were able to adjust the valve to make it open and the reservoir began to fill. PW staff monitored the pressure and began flushing hydrants in the affected area until the pressure was restored to normal at about 11:30am Sunday, Oct 6th.
A boil water notification was made through Everbridge Alerts and social media to the affected pressure zone (middle pressure zone).
Bacteria samples were taken and were absent of coliform bacteria so the boil water notice was lifted at 10:00am, Monday, October 7th.
Lifted 10/07/2024: Bacteria samples were taken and were absent of coliform bacteria so the low pressure boil water notice was lifted at 10:00am, Monday, October 7th. |
