The City of Powers Public Works Department will be performing maintenance on a water main line on Fig Street. Due to the expected loss of water pressure in a portion of the water distribution system during the work on the main line, a boil water advisory has been posted.
Expected duration: 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM.
Number of service lines affected: 56 connections affected, but only 22 possibly with an interruption to the service.
Licensed facilities affected: No food service or other licensed facilities affected.
Public notification method: Customers are being notified through Door hangers, media releases, social media posts, and public notices in high-traffic areas.
The notice will remain until pressure is restored and lab results show no bacterial contamination.
Lifted 12/13/2024: The City of Powers reported that maintenance on the water main on Fig Street has been completed. Pressure was restored to customers and follow-up testing of the drinking water has returned results showing absence of bacterial contamination. Customers have been notified that the boil advisory has been lifted. No further actions needed at this time. |
