Details: | Received alert that two of the five confirmation samples collected at the well on 12/16/24 tested positive for E. coli. Spoke with Marleene. A boil advisory is required until the minimum chlorine residual that will ensure 4-log virus inactivation is determined and in place. Lifted 12/23/2024: It has been determined that Power City Water Co-Op’s disinfection system is achieving the required 4-log (99.99) level of inactivation for viruses, making the water safe to drink. The boil advisory is lifted effective immediately. The water system will begin daily chlorine measurements to ensure the required level of disinfection is met. |
