Alex Ponder reported that on January 18, 2025 at approximately 12:55 pm, the system was made aware of a leak behind the True Value hardware store on N. Hussey Ave. to W. Millie St.
The source of the leak was identified as an abandoned tee to W. Millie St. The line was isolated, the broken tee was removed, and repairs were made following best management practices.
7 properties and 27 services were affected. All affected customers were notified.
After repairs were completed, the line was pressurized by opening the valve at W. River St. The line was then flushed by opening both hydrants on N. Hussey St. The lines were flushed until chlorine levels were back to 1.0 ppm.
Service was restored to all affected lines.
Lifted 01/18/2025: Follow-up water samples were collected and tested, with all three samples testing absent of bacterial contamination. |
