| Details: | Avion WC – Greater Avion (PWS #00091), a groundwater system with a population of 32,265 and 12,906 service connections in Deschutes County, issued a partial boil water advisory on 4/22/2025 affecting over 1000 residential connections, four daycares, a mobile home park, hotel, and Ponderosa elementary, Lava Ridge elementary and Skyview Middle schools, in the northeast Bend, OR area (see map on the water system’s website). At approximately 3:00 p.m., a 12” water main break along Yeoman Road resulted in a loss of pressure. The leak was isolated and water pressure restored to all but four residences by ~3:30 p.m., and repairs were completed.
Impacted customers were notified via auto dialer, phone contact (with schools, daycare, and the hotel) and individual flyers at apartments. Additional details have been posted on Avion WC – Greater Avion’s website. Pallets of bottled water were purchased and delivered to the schools and daycare. The system flushed mains and collected bacteriological samples late 4/22/2025 for analysis by Edge Analytical, Inc. – Bend. Sample results are anticipated by the afternoon of 4/23/2025. The boil water advisory will remain in place until satisfactory sampling results are obtained, at which time the advisory will be lifted and this advisory d.
