| Details: | The operator reported an eight-inch main break on E. River St, between Hwy 199 and N. Caves Ave.
Number of services affected: 4 properties and 7 services affected.
Notification: All affected customers received direct notification verbal and door hangers on
05.11.2025. Food service facilities affected. Operator instructed to address this with the public health REHS. There was no need to translate the public advisory in other languages.
Details of the incident:
On May 11th, starting around 7:30 AM, a water leak on E. River St. was reported and addressed. Operators quickly responded, isolating sections of N. Caves Ave and a smaller main and notifying affected property owners. A more significant leak on E. River St. was subsequently isolated using valves at Highway 199 River St. and River St. Junction Ave. The break was repaired the system was flushed at two hydrants until pressure and chlorine residuals recovered (with an extra 15-minute flush). Water services were fully restored by approximately 4:30 PM. There was no loss of service pressure during the incident.
Lab results for water samples collected on May 12, 2025, came back absent of bacterial contamination.
