| Details: | This water system is under an advisory for infants under 6 months old of Do Not Drink. A nitrate sample result (12.0 mg/l) taken on 5/30 and alerted on 6/3 was over the nitrate MCL (10.0 mg/l). The nitrate confirmation sample (11.4 mg/l) taken 24 hours later was also over the MCL. I emailed the operator a copy of a Tier 1 public notice that was to be posted within 24 hours. A circuit rider request was initiated and they will be contacting the operator to explore nitrate-removal treatment options. Lifted 02/05/2026: 2/5/26: I had an in-person meeting with the owner, James Beard, Manny, and John Feroldi to discuss what corrective actions the PWS has done. They informed me that an overloaded in-ground septic tank (located near the park managers office) was found. They pumped the sludge out of the tank, cleaned the tank components, and replaced a damaged fitting that was identified during the reassembly. It was recommended that the tanks are pumped every 12-18 months. A nitrate sample was collected on 11/12/25, 12/16/25, 1/13/26, and 2/2/26. All four of these samples were under the Nitrate MCL (10.0mg/l). |
