Details: | The City of Gladstone (PWS 00321) a community water system serving 3,452 population, experienced a main waterline break at 4am this morning at the entrance to a neighborhood in the upper residential zone streets noted Jennings Ave, Paola Ct, Shadow Ct, Devonshire Drive, and Nottingham Drive. Approximately 73 homes were affected. The system’s pressure in this area dropped below 20 psi with 3 to 4 streets without water. The leak was stopped and system pressure restored to 55-60 psi measuring 0.5-0.6 ppm free chlorine residual. Additional efforts ongoing to repair the broken pipe resulting in 25 residents out of water. Once the repair is completed, the city will collect coliform bacteria samples. The city is working to notify affected customers and post information on their website. If samples are coliform absent, the water advisory will be lifted and customers recommended to flush premise plumbing.
UPDATE (7/7/2025): Door hangers were distributed to the 73 residential customers affected and the advisory was posted on the citys website. The repair was completed this afternoon and system pressure restored. Four samples were collected, and results should be ready in the morning. Lifted 07/08/2025: All four coliform samples returned negative. The 73 residences are being notified via door hangers and notification will be posted to the Citys website. |
