| Details: | On Thursday, July 10th, customers were issued a boil water advisory due to high turbidity in the treated water. Turbidity levels on July 11th reached 11.0 NTU.
Garden Valley staff inspected the intake and found significant amounts of dirt and mud entering the watershed upstream. It appears a road recently constructed by Roseburg Forest Company directly impacted the water source, causing extremely high raw water turbidity.
In response, Garden Valley staff are collecting water samples, monitoring chlorine levels, and implementing more frequent filter changes.
The boil advisory was reissued on July 15th using the state-provided template. The operator will notify customers once turbidity levels return to the required range and the boil water advisory is lifted.
No food service or other licensed facilities were affected, and language access materials were not required. |
