Details: City of Coquille is going on a boil notice due to high turbidity levels. The raw water source has high turbidity levels and the system is running out of water in the distribution system so they are going to have to produce water with very turbid raw water. Once the system has their turbidity levels down to normal levels, they will take 4 coliform samples before they lift the boil notice.

Lifted 03/22/2019:  Coquille is lifting the advisory today because the turbidity is reliably under 1.0 NTU, recent coliform results were absent, and the chlorine residual levels continue to be normal. (Interestingly, the chlorine level did not appear to be affected by this high turbidity event.) During this event, the maximum raw water turbidity was 80.0 NTU and the finished water rose to more than 5.0 NTU on March 15 but has not exceeded that threshold for the boil advisory since.
