| Details: | The operator reported that the system issued a boil water notice due to treatment failure following recent severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. Turbidity levels exceeded 1.0 NTU.
Due to the sudden and intense storms, sediment and suspended solids in the intake pond have increased to levels that the water filtration plant is currently unable to manage.
Water system staff is actively monitoring these conditions and will continue to look for ways to improve the systems to prevent these issues in the future. The boil water advisory will remain in effect until turbidity returns to safe levels, at which time the operator will issue a new notice. The boil will be lifted after water sample test results show absence of coliform contamination.
No food service or licensed facilities affected.
No language access communications needed. Lifted 03/16/2026: The DRC reported that the voluntary boil water advisory has been lifted. To ensure ongoing water safety, the system installed a new digital monitoring system that tracks water clarity every three minutes. These technical upgrades, combined with new operating procedures, are expected to ensure the system is able to consistently meets all health and safety standards. |
