Details: | At 4:39 PM today I received a call from Brandon Owen (971-70-0531) with the City of Sheridan notifying me that they thought they had a mainline break affecting about 12 services served off the transmission main coming from the Stoney Mt. spring sources (after the disinfection facility). Brandon called again at 6:39 PM to let me know that the loss of pressure was due to an issue with a valve and that the loss of pressure only affected 1 residential customer. The customer was placed on a boil water notice, and they will collect a coliform sample to assess any possible bacterial contamination following the repair. The Delphian School does have an emergency connection off that same main line but are unaffected by the low pressure as they have their own wells they were using. Update 09/15/2025: 9-15-25 Update: Brandon emailed that they issued a boil water notice for 1109 SW Richard St. It was determined that a blow of valve in our upper vault on the spring line malfunctioned causing a pressure loos to one connection. The customer was informed in person about the boil water notice. Following repairs, a coliform sample was taken to the lab Monday (9/15) morning. Lifted 09/17/2025: on 9-17-25 I was notified by Brandon that the sample results came back clean (absent of coliform bacteria). The boil notice is lifted. |
