| Details: | A 6 foot longitudinal break in an 8 in. cast iron main quickly drained the area and the reservoir for the pressure zone. Operators isolated it and used parallel 12 in. D.I. main to re-pressurize the system quickly. Pumped wells to keep up with demand and refill reservoir. Several businesses and a few residences were directly affected without water for a spell. But water was on and sampled by midnight early Monday. 1,500 customers affected. Reverse 9-1-1 calls went out late Monday morning, and reached 90 of those affected. Door hangers, press releases, reader boards, website, and other outreach was used. Lifted 07/04/2017: From Sunrises website: "Water sample testing verified that the water is safe for consumption. As 8:00 AM July 4th all customers have been returned to normal service." |
