Details: | I spoke with the operator this morning to discuss a loss of pressure event that occurred on Sunday April 7th, at approximately 3:00 am. The timeline of events. Operator conducted daily testing on Sunday morning and found no residual chlorine. Upon further inspection he found the pump non-operational. It was determined that early Sunday morning there was a power surge that caused the pump relay to fail. Over time the 3,500 gallon storage tank drained and the system had a loss of pressure for approximately 12 hours. The operator contacted residents by physically knocking on doors to let them know not to consume the water until further testing is conducted.
The pump was repaired on Sunday afternoon and hauled water has been used to fill the storage tank as this is low producing well. The operator will be at this system most of today. Chlorination continues throughout the distribution system. He will submit a coliform sample from the distribution today. I have sent him a Tier 1 Public Notice for Loss of Pressure to complete and post.
Lifted 04/10/2019: Distribution coliform samples were collected and yesterday they were confirmed absent of any bacteria. |
