| Details: | Boil notice issued due to E.coli + in distribution. The source samples and distribution were both TC+ as well. Operator speculated that it could be from a hose attached to system for use by an adjacent farmer. Hose it attached at a place that has no backflow device and deer, foxes, coyote and rodents are known to frequent the area. Operator plans to pin-point a source, correct any issues, shock, conduct flushing, then resample. He has been told that is issue is not corrected, they will be required to add disinfection. Lifted 10/28/2025: Operator had a member of OAWU come out to help assess systems vulnerabilities. A hose used by a farmer to fill water tanks was being left connect to system with no backflow prevention device. The area hose was located is known to have feces of deer and other smaller mammals. Hose was removed until a backflow device can be installed. System shock and flushing event were completed. After chlorine residual dissipated, resampling took place and the distribution and source samples all have come back absent for TC and EC. System also plans to provide better covers for storage tank vents and install new pump for well #1 per OAWU advice. |
