Details: | The City is on a Do Not Drink Water advisory due to a small (possibly 2 gpm) diesel spill near their springbrook source. The springbrook source is offline now and the water system is being flushed out with the South Umpqua source. containment and cleanup is underway at the spill site. The water system will be collecting samples and flushing the distribution system today. The advisory will be lifted once water quality test results indicate the problem is resolved. Lifted 05/29/2019: The City has lifted the Do Not Drink advisory after the latest 3 water samples came back non-detect for any VOCs and non-detect for specifically diesel, oil, and gasoline (NWTPH-Dx and NWTPH-Gx). DEQ completed the clean-up of the suspected spill site on 5/28/19. The Springbrook WTP will remain off for 1-2 more weeks until the filter and clearwell at the WTP have been thoroughly cleaned. |
