Details: Contacted Terra Kemper, Interim Park Manager, for the Goose Lake and Collier State Parks regarding the confirmed E. coli sample from the distribution system. Informed the park manager that they will need to post a boil water advisory as soon as possible. A public notice template and guidance was provided to the system. The park manager indicated that the positive E. coli sample might be the result of a broken 3 inch water main that occurred last week. The line break was in a section of the distribution system that does not serve the campground. The section of line leads from the storage tank to the tiny house, shop restroom and shop RV space sample sites. The main has since been repaired and the distribution system has been shock chlorinated. A special sample was collected from the campground portion of the distribution system, but the chlorine was not flushed from the lines prior to sample collection. The water system will re-shock the distribution system and collect additional samples after the chlorine has been flushed from the system. The water system will lift the notice if additional samples are absent for coliform and E. coli.

Lifted 07/17/2019:  The water system has repaired the broken distribution pipes, shock chlorinated the distribution system and collected samples. The samples from the distribution system were absent for coliform.
