Details: | Justin summarized the incident on 7/16 as follows. (OHA was notified of incident from a customer complaint over the weekend):
-City tried to tap a 24-in trunk line on 7/12
-Tried to throttle down and control, but trunk line broke
-After repairs complete, de-watered the low zone by flushing too much water
-Received 70 low pressure calls, a few users out of water in low zone
-Decided to issue boil water notice for entire low zone, approx. 1700 homes and a few commercial users via website, social media, news media.
-Followed DWS BMP to respond to service outage, collected 5 bactis, with coliform absent results on 7/14, chlorine residuals normal
-lifted notice on 7/14 on City website Lifted 07/14/2019: As stated above, Justin noted on 7/16, that service outage boil water notice lifted for affected low zone (approx. 1,700 users) on 7/14 - City website and social media d. I forwarded DWS BMP for service outages to Justin and asked that he remind the crew to notify DWS during future service outages or boil water notice issuances. |
