| Details: | 8/16 routine coliform was E.coli positive. Called Bruce. Discussed repeats, source samples, investigating possible cause, boil water notice, and contaminated water use protocol for restaurants. Emailed templates. Bruce called Thursday evening. Found chipmunk in well/cistern, removed it. Further samples not required as cause of contamination was obvious, moved to corrective action. Notice posted on cabins, lodge, signboards. Discussed chlorinating 3000 gallon cistern/well to 50ppm overnight, flush Friday morning and resample. Visiting on Friday to investigate and verify zero chlorine before taking at least 2 follow up samples. Results should be available Saturday morning. All follow up samples must be absent before lifting notice. Lifted 08/21/2017: Repairs were made to seal the lid for the well. After shocking and flushing the water system over the weekend, chlorine residual was verified as zero. Both follow-up samples were coliform absent. Additional sampling will be done in early September. |
