Details: | Andrew Howard, USFS, contacted our office requesting technical assistance following a distribution line break and system-wide loss of pressure. We stated that a boil-water advisory was necessary until system-side flushing and follow-up water tests that confirm that there is no remaining microbiological contamination in the system. An email was also sent providing public notification templates and ‘best-practices’ information. A copy of that email may be viewed upon request at Hood River County Health Department. Update 07/22/2019: Andrew contacted our office again to provide an up-date. 4 special microbiology contaminates (coliform) water tests were taken. The results were positive for coliform bacteria in half the samples. Hood River County Health Department advised the operator to continue flushing the system and take follow-up special samples in the locations that were contaminated. Keep the system on a ‘boil-water’ advisory until all samples return back clean. Lifted 07/23/2019: Andrew contacted our office to let us know that the 2nd round of ‘special’ water samples tested ‘absent’ of coliforms. The boil-water advisory is lifted. |
