| Details: | Kevin was informed by the water system operator that their reservoir was broken into. The fencing had been cut and the hatch opened. the police have been notified. the water system thinks someone threw something in to clog the system, as the tank is full but the water pressure has dropped noticeably. The system has already been on a boil water advisory due to a recent main break. the main break was repaired, but testing has not yet confirmed the absence of bacteria. I advised Kevin that the system should go on a "do not drink" notice. Kevin will distribute a notice if the system operator is not willing. The operator did not seem to have a sense of urgency in any response. Kevin will also collect a coliform sample at the request of DWS, if the system is unwilling. He will also encourage them to isolate or bypass the reservoir for emptying and cleaning. Lifted 08/30/2019: Police report was filed about the cut in the fence. Investigation was incomplete. Reservoir was emptied and cleaned after tree roots were removed. Routine testing completed on 8/28/19. |
