| Details: | A boil advisory was issued at the City of Brookings this afternoon due to a service line break. Thirty homes served by the Tidewater reservoir had already experienced a loss of pressure. A boil advisory was delivered to these residents by door hanger. A 2nd reservoir is also being drained. When that happens, 300 more homes will be affected, and they are preparing those door hanger advisories. The City has also posted the advisory on their website. No commercial facilities were affected, only residential.
Crews anticipate the line will be repaired by this evening. After the repair and flushing, the City will collect several coliform samples. The earliest the boil advisory could be lifted would be Friday the 23rd, when those test results become available.
