Details: | Spoke with Terry about routine E. coli positive (10/4) followed by repeat total coliform positive (10/5) requiring a boil water notice. He notified residents yesterday to boil their water as a precaution. The source was coliform absent. We discuss investigating the problem and shock chlorinating the water system. I emailed him links to the shock chlorination resources on the Drinking Water Services website and the level 1 coliform investigation form. I asked that he notify John Zalaznik at NCPHD on Monday to discuss corrective action taken and follow-up sampling needed to lift the boil water notice. Update 10/10/2017: Contact with both Terry Hert and Ron Elton (541-980-7787)to discuss progress in treating the reservoir. System is off line and the reservoir has been batched to 13ppm, it will be held in the tank until this evening and then begin to be dumped. Operator has identified a screen on the tank that is not protected(old float rod) it is currently pointed up. This will be corrected by plugging the opening. 1 Routine test will be pulled from distribution when chlorine levels are zero. If results are negative then the boil water notice can be lifted. 3 temporary routines are due in November. Lifted 10/18/2017: A routine sample taken in distribution on 10-17-17 was TC-, the boil water advisory is lifted as of 12:00PM today. 3 samples are needed in November. |
