| Details: | A main waterline broke at about 6 PM on Oct 19th 2017 in Astoria near the Willow Water District causing a loss of pressure and low pressure for areas of the Willow Dale Water District, Riverpoint, Clatsop County Fairgrounds, Oregon Department of Forestry, and Cavalier Court services. A boil water notice was issued and broadcast over mass media (Daily Astorian) and residents of the Willow Dale Water District were directly called. The mainline was repaired and being re-pressurized starting around 7 am Oct 20th. Results of coliform sampling being done today will be known Sat (Oct 21st) and the City knows to contact OHA-DWS Saturday to see if the boil water notice can be lifted. Clatsop Co HHS and Oregon Dept of Ag were notified. Lifted 10/21/2017: The City repaired the broken main, flushed, and took 5 Coliform samples on October 20th. All results were absent of Coliform bacteria and the notice was lifted on October 21st at around 10 AM. Local media was notified, including The Daily Astorian, which published the boil rescind notice at 10:07 AM on Oct 21st. Willow Dale Water District also posted the notice and made direct calls to their customers. |
