Details: | The City’s water transmission main was damaged yesterday near the intersection of Lost Lake Rd and Imai Rd in Dee, Oregon by private construction work and requires immediate repairs. A repair band was placed on the broken main last night, but the pipe segment will need to be replaced today, prompting the zero pressure boil notice. The repairs began at 10am today and require a temporary reduction in water pressure potentially affecting up to 150 people. This advisory only affects City of Hood River Water customers located South of Summit Drive outside of City limits and two wholesale customers 1) Iowa Dr Water District (06249) and 2) Aldridge Ditch Co WS (01013). Service within the City of Hood River is unaffected by this repair work. The City maintains several days of water service in reservoirs to accommodate repair work such as this. Provided repairs, flushing, and disinfection go as planned, coliform sampling will be completed today and the results received tomorrow (Sat, Feb 29th) with the potential to lift the advisory. The City of Hood River and Hood River County are assisting the two wholesale customers with similar testing and notifications.
Lifted 02/29/2020: Wade Seaborn emailed DWS staff on Saturday, February 29th and four samples collected on Friday were coliform absent. The City lifted the boil water advisory and notified customers. - M. Byrd 3/2/20 |
