Details: | A customer was looking for help in water hauling since roughly 60 people are without water at the water system due to at least three (3) separate leaks after the windstorm at the beginning of the week. While Seaside was wiling to sell the small nearby water system water, there was no easy way to ferry it. Pete only provided water hauling guidance and a few cold leads on water-hauler info.
The main water storage tank is still full, but a tank that it feeds is draining fast due to leaks until complete outage. Two leaks were fixed by Thursday. (And now there is an unverified report that the final leak was fixed.)
Phillip Good was left a voicemail that Best Management Practice guidance advises to flush and sample for coliforms before lifting the boil advisory. (BMP was sent to customer, as well.) Lifted 03/23/2022: Repair to reservoir roof. Water sampling is caught up and clear of contamination. Update 10/19/2020: Phillip, DRC, explained they are on their sixth pipeline break they need to fix today. While pressure was restored a few times before, breaks continue to occur. BMPs were described and re-sent. He will flush, sample, work with Meredith Reily, Clatsop Co. HD, before lifting the boil notice. (One future problem to address is that they live in a slide-zone, so many of the pipemains are above the ground, by design.) |
