Details: | Marleene called to let DWS know that there was a loss of pressure in the system and a boil advisory was issued. A pump installer was unable to find the cause for the well failing to keep the reservoir filled, but was able to return the well pump to service and refill the reservoir. A water sample will be collected later today.
4/22/21 : Marleene called with an . The well was pump tested and the production dropped from 25 gpm to 5 gpm after 30 minutes of pumping. The pump itself tested OK. The reservoir has only about two feet of water in it. Suggested running a camera down the well to see if a problem with the well could be determined. Boil advisory to continue until the problem is resolved. Update 07/22/2021: Jon Sanfilippo (WRD) sent an after the well pump was pulled. Several WRD staff were on hand to camera and evaluate the well. Well construction is not in compliance and there is comingling. Consensus is there is little water left at the depth the well is at and a new well would most be the only option. (paraphrased) The system is in preliminary planning with the City of Umatilla to tie in with the city. But the expansion project is not set to start for a couple of years. Lifted 12/03/2021: Spoke with Marleene. The well has been able to keep up with demand for the last few months. The booster pumps had maintenance work done on them, and are working OK to maintain pressure in the system. All coliform samples since April have passed. This is adequate information to allow the boil advisory to be lifted. |
