| Details: | A waterline break resulted in a loss of pressure for 10 customers last night. Another waterline break this morning will result in a loss of pressure for 10-15 customers this morning. The affected area is a residential area in Brookings, OR along 7th St between Meadow Ln and Hassett St. Water system staff have issued boil notices to affected customers and are currently working on repairs. Update 05/04/2021: Public works director Anthony Baron emailed me a copy of the boil water notice that was posted. He informed me that the City put out the public water advisory on their website and it also went out to local media. Approximately 45 door knockers were posted last night and today on houses that had their water turned off due to last nights break as well as the one main break they had today. I emailed a copy of the boil water notice to DMCE. Update 05/17/2021: Received an email from Anthony Baron. Tony reported that there were two new line breaks in the same area affected in May 4th. However, these last two breaks were not as big. Operator reported that test results came back absent of bacterial contamination. Tony will provide the test results on 5.24.21 when he can collect them from the Public Works Supervisor. Lifted 05/24/2021: Anthony Baron emailed copies of the water test results collected in the area affected by the recent water breaks. Test results came back absent of bacterial contamination. Samples collected on 5.5.21 and 05.19.21 at multiple locations - the break, above break and at the cemetery. |
