Details: | The system had a main line that was leaking and it drained the entire system. The lead was found and an EWEB crew came out to fix the broken main line. The water system contact did not know if the system was shock chlorinated following the repair on Saturday. The water system also did not know how to shock chlorinate the water system. The system called the Lane County Emergency Manager asking for assistance in notifying the 300 people on the water system. The system did not have current phone number or e-mails for customers so notification could be made quickly. The system ultimately was encouraged to reach out and get volunteers to go door to door to notify those that were not reached by phone or e-mail. The system also contacted the local news station to broadcast the advisory. Update 09/05/2018: The water district has shock chlorinated the system and is having coliform samples collected today. The water district board is meeting tonight. Sarah Puls is attending to educate the water system about the deficiencies with the emergency response plan and operations and maintenance manual that have come up since the system loss of pressure. Lifted 09/07/2018: Water system shock chlorinated the water system about 6 days ago and received three bacteria samples back on 9/7/18 that were absent. A problem correction notice was sent to all water users. |
