| Details: | The water system collected its December routine sample on 12/6 and it was absent for bacteria. The two source assessment samples for the year were collected on 12/21 and both were positive for E. coli. The water system has been doing system upgrades but unknown if any well work was done recently. Due to the holiday - the lab cannot accept samples until 12/27. As the distribution water quality cant be verified, a boil notice was put into effect. Residents will be informed on 12/23 and notices are being distributed. Lifted 12/29/2021: 12/27/21 - Spoke with Sara. Well #2 was not running when the source sample was collected, and had not been run since August when some work was done on the well pumps. This means the SRC-AB sample was stagnant water that had been standing in the piping for months. In addition, the sample tap for that well is poorly located, and requires the sampler to crawl under piping on the floor on their back to collect a sample, making accidental contamination of the sample a substantial possibility. Five confirmation samples from Well #1 were dropped off at the lab today. 12/29/21 - Received the results of the five source/confirmation samples from Well #1. All tested absent for bacteria, which allows the boil advisory to be lifted. |
