Details: | I went to Bellinger’s and talked to Marleaux. We discussed the frozen pipes that broke on January 1. There was water everywhere, all over the floor, through the walls, there is still fans trying to dry it out. They were closed for a while. Pure and Soft has been working on the machine for nitrate control. They are waiting from an answer from Eric, the owner of Pure and Soft water, about why the machine isn’t handling the nitrates. Marleaux said they have looked into purchasing a different, larger machine however it was an estimate of $8900.00 which Jack said was too expensive. I discussed with Marleaux some items that have come to mind trying to think outside the box, the high concentration of nitrates during winter months maybe from concentrated nitrates in the soil, please discuss with Jack about ergonomic fertilizer load, move the well, deepen the well, run water all winter for a dilution factor in the soil. Marleaux said she had a meeting with Jack on Thursday Jan 27. Marleaux said she would take a sample to the lab yesterday Tuesday Jan 25 so we can hopefully have results by Friday. I also discussed with Marleaux that if the Drinking Water Program gives them a Do Not Drink order that no food service will be able to take place. At that time, the well water will be considered Non-Potable water. At whatever nitrate level the Drinking Water Program determines that to be. Currently they are telling me that is about 100 but that could change. |
