Details: | 7/23/20 - Received alert for copper AL exceedance. Reviewed the lab reports. The two sites with high copper levels were collected at city hall and an office building, not single family residences as required by the rule. Another set with results below the action levels was collected at a church. Left multiple voicemails advising that three other sites that meet the tier criteria be found and additional samples be collected at those sites. 9/14/20 - Dorothy called with more information on the high copper sample sites' piping materials. The 1930's church and pre-1975 city hall both have galvanized pipe. The office building was remodeled in the mid-1990's and has a mixture of pipe materials with some copper. 10/1/20 - Spoke with Dorothy regarding three new proposed sample sites, two of which have a combination of copper and galvanized piping.. 10/15/20 - Received results from the three sets of samples collected at residences. All samples were below the action levels. 7/14/21 - Spoke with Dorothy. Explained that while the rule requirements to collect water quality parameters and select a proposed treatment method were still in effect, the city could collect two six-month rounds of ten samples at correct tiered locations to provide more information regarding the situation. 10/8/21 - Received results of samples from ten sites. While one site was over the lead AL and one other site was over the copper AL, the 90th percentiles for both lead & copper were below the AL's. |
