Details: | On 02.04.2022 - A request was made to DMCE to update the system's classification to a community water system and to update their chemical monitoring schedule. Phone notification provided by phone to Caleb and Jonathan. Jonathan requested assistance from the circuit rider to do a new tracer study and draft an LOI to access SRF funds. I emailed Caleb and Jonathan providing answers to their questions. In summery, that the system is currently a community waters system according to our rules. Sleepy Hollow can always explore alternatives to being a community water system while it is currently a community PWS. If the system doesn’t comply with Community PWS requirements, violation points will add up, but it will take several months before formal enforcement can begin. At that point our compliance coordinator would draft a formal enforcement document with corrective actions that need to be taken with reasonable deadlines to ensure all corrective actions are completed. 01.28.2022-Jonathan Woody emailed me asking if the system can putt off going to a community system until groundwater can be explored and the system be split into 2 systems. To prevent going to a community water system, Caleb is willing to remove 4 connections from the RV side, but it will take three months to allow this reduction in connections. 01.13.2022-Caleb informed me that Sleep Hollow RV park has 18 connections and serves 27 residents. Due to the increase in residential population and the number of connections, the water system meets the definition of a Community Water System. Previously, the system had been classified as a Transient Non-Community water system (TNC). A Community Water System means a public water system that has 15 or more service connections used by year-round residents, or that regularly serves 25 or more year-round residents. Caleb is working with Jonathan Woody to explore alternatives to being a community water system. |
