| Details: | Co-op secretary Kim Bishop said she had not gotten any response from her inquiries re: slow sand filters from either the Blue Futures Company nor a small system using this treatment in Coos County. I did a little more research, and emailed her leads on 3 more smallish water systems in Oregon with slow sand. I also gave her contact info for Rob Henry, the engineering consultant for a couple of those systems, who said he would be willing to give Eighty Acres some advice. Rob also thinks they may be able to return to cartridge filters as long as they find a way to remove the high iron content first. It was because their cartridge filters kept clogging up that they abandoned trying to treat the water at all several years ago, though they continued to pump untreated surface water to the houses, asking each residence to provide their own filters. I relayed that I heard perhaps Blue Futures has gone out of business. | ||
