| Details: | Spoke to David during the water system survey about the 3rd quarter TTHM that exceeded the MCL. We talked about ways to manage TTHM formation, starting with operational changes that reduce water age (turning storage tank over more, flushing) and other options if that doesnt work (tank circulation systems/spray aeration). He is going to work on putting operational changes in place prior to collecting the next quarterly sample in November. We also talked about proper sites for testing DBPs (oldest water / furthest point from chlorination) and he thinks there might be two sites that are better than the current site. Potentially he will test at all 3 sites in November and pick the highest one for future compliance monitoring. This is a good time to do it since November is their peak historical month for high DBPs. David is aware that if TTHM continues to be at this level, the locational running annual average will exceed the MCL and the system will be in violation, be required to do a public notice, and need to tell us how they will fix the issue. | ||
