Details: | 03.17.2025-I contacted the system via phone (541-841-5067) and left a voice message requesting an update on the status of the system. An email was also sent to the operator. For reference, this system was inactivated in 2022 because they reported less than 10 customers per day using the water. 04.01.2022-Mike reported that the lodge is ready to submit plan review documents to secure a license for their food service facility. I provided Mike with contact information for Maelagh Luckett, the REHST currently doing the food, pool and lodging inspections in Curry County. Mike also reported that the system recently installed a VIQUA Pro24-186 UV reactor as an alternative treatment to disinfect the source water. Half moon bar reported less than 10 customers using the water per day during their peak season (between September and October). Given the daily population the system does not meet the minimum requirements to be considered a public water system and will remain in our data base as inactive. Test results of past water samples collected between 2006 and 2008 suggest a possible contamination of the source used at Half Moon Bar. If in the future the system is reactivated as a public water system, compliance source monitoring may be required to determine if the well is E. Coli positive. However, the VIQUA UV reactor meets the state validation test criteria to provide 4 log ( 99.99 %) viral disinfection. Water from the well is pumped to a 3,000 gallon tank and from there it gets treated with UV light before entering the distribution system. No further action needed at this time. |
