| Details: | Morgan phoned to let me know he has taken over the manager position, and he overlapped with the previous person (Sol Weil) over the summer. We reviewed over the phone the DWS website and how to find various types of information on the camp water system in Data Online. Morgan said their turbidimeter is very old (1970s?) and they are not being able to calibrate it anymore. I mentioned that I think nearby Bridge WD may have extra new benchtop turbidimeters, so Morgan will contact them. Morgan asked about operator training. DWS asks transient surface water system operators to take the free Essentials of Surface Water Treatment class. DWS also teaches a free class just on slow sand filtration. Unfortunately, none of those classes are scheduled right now. I showed Morgan where to look on the website for updates; he might contact another DWS staff person about the classes. I also informed Morgan that a small (non-EPA) water system was interested in learning about slow sand filters, and had contacted his predecessor but never received a response. Morgan will get back to that system. | ||
