Assistance Type: | OTHER REGULATORY - Pump Station Problem | ||
Details: | This was sent to my email on Tuesday 6/21 from the operator/DRC. On Sunday morning (6:24 AM) there was a power outage and emergency generator had issues. Alarm was called out and staff responded. Staff solved problem and reinstated emergency power to pump(s). Fortunately, there is a bypass pipe at the station that allows water to move around the station and flow water by gravity pressure from the Medford Water supply into the CAWD system. Staff then quickly went to select sites and determined that there was positive pressure at customer spigots. At the same time, we informed our Answering Service that if any customers calls in regarding low pressure or has no water to promptly call our standby person. In our investigation we determined that positive pressure was maintained in the system, and we received no phone calls from the public regarding low pressure or no water at there tap. Once pump(s) were restored, we went back to spot check chlorine residuals at select sites. All sites had normal residuals. As a precaution on Monday, we investigated other locations within the system and all chlorine residuals were normal. Though not necessary in this scenario on Monday we also collected special bacteriological samples and expect results back this afternoon. Based on BMP* and investigations the CAWD system was not compromised during this event. I reached out to Jackson County yesterday for the purpose of providing information. |
