Details: | Customer served by Greater Avion emailed the DWS info inbox 6/27 and 7/1 regarding water quality concern. Customer notified Avion 6/16 of black flecks in toilets inside residence at 60387 Hedgewood Lane. Avion responded to investigate complaint on 6/22, flushed customer service, and collected sample at customer's interior tap that was total coliform positive. Avion flushed services to determine if sediment was isolated to the area. Follow up samples collected 6/23 at customer's meter box, and meters upstream and downstream from customer were coliform absent. In email received 6/29, Avion described additional steps taken 6/27 to extensively flush area mainlines to remove sediment and accumulated debris. A map of area flushed was provided. Avion took over area from Bend that had been previously chlorinated, consists of ductile iron pipe and described as long dead end line with minimal elevation change making flushing difficult. DWS contacted customer by phone on 7/1 to discuss water quality concerns and water system requirements. DWS contacted Avion to request they contact customer to relay next steps. 8/9/22 Update: Spoke with Marc at Avion on 8/8. Additional steps have been taken to address customer's concerns. Flushing of customer service line and area waterlines has been performed on several occasions with sign of no black flecks in flushed water. Installing a sampling station is planned to better monitor water quality. |
