Details: | I spoke to both Rex Miller (operator) and Wyatt Rutherford (HOA board member) today about the transition to their new water source and meeting the SW standards. (Because the connection is a shallow 3/4 mile long line in a brackish slough, they will be treating the water from CBNB to surface water standards again before distributing it.) Within the next couple weeks, both the new CBNB connection meter and an accompanying backflow device will be installed. The circuit rider should be able to do their tracer study soon after. I asked Rex if he had all the equipment for daily treatment monitoring (turbidity, pH, temperature, chlorine residual). He said no, and could I send some information on that. I also pointed out to both Rex and Wyatt that the Estates will need a certified operator (DRC) to sign off on their monthly reports. They said they had received a letter of inquiry from a certified operator already. I also let them know that switching to a new water source means that their chemical monitoring schedules will be "reset," and they'll have to start again in 2019 at the initial monitoring frequency. Wyatt would like that information for budgeting. They have decided to use the CBNB connection exclusively, leaving the previous wells as emergency sources only. Wyatt noticed that when their water usage rate dropped off this fall, their chlorine residual levels also dropped due to dissipation. We can discuss ways to handle that when we meet for the tracer study. |
