Details: Situation summary:

* 2018 to Present - USFS WYETH CG (OR41 94014) public water system has been experiencing periodic microbiological contamination (coliform bacteria) in the water. The frequency of events had been increasing, and the issue appeared to be seasonal. Several site visits, as well as investigations by the operator were unable to identify a cause attributed to the installed equipment (well, distribution, etc.). * August 3, 2021 - USFS WYETH CG was ordered to install chlorine residual (disinfection) by 1/17/22. Formal plan review was required prior to installation. See order online at: https://yourwater.oregon.gov/enforce.php?pwsno=94014

* April 2022 - USFS WYETH CG was assessed with a formal violation for failure to install chlorine residual (disinfection). See: https://yourwater.oregon.gov/violsum.php?pwsno=94014

* April 2022 - USFS WYETH CG was ordered to publish public notifications describing this violation. Publications were also to be re-published at least every 90 days that the violation persisted. * April to Present, 2022 - USFS WYETH CG continues to have persistent microbiological contamination (coliform bacteria) in the water. Test results are available at: https://yourwater.oregon.gov/dcoliform.php?pwsno=94014.

To date, USFS WYETH CG has failed to submit plans for formal review for a chlorine residual (disinfection) system. As well, no chlorine residual (disinfection) system has been installed.

Hood River County Health Department, and the Oregon Health Authority, Drinking Water Services program, continue to communicate with the operator of USFS WYETH CG. The documents supporting events referenced in this report are available for public viewing at Hood River County Health Department, Environmental Health office, upon request.
