| Details: | Ray Dunlap, an operator at the City of Reedsport, contacted DWS to let us know that the turbidity readings they were recording were rising over 1 NTU (starting on 5/29/22 the highest reading of the day turbidity was 3.0 NTU). Since the system is an unfiltered surface water system they are required to take a fecal coliform sample everyday when the turbidity is over 1 NTU. The samples have been analyzed and results were not of concern, they were normal levels. After reviewing multiple aspects of the system it was determined that the online turbidimeter was giving false high readings. The grab samples were having much lower numbers for turbidity. The operator was instructed to continue taking grab samples for recording the turbidity for the monthly report until the online turbidimeter could be fixed. The turbidity readings did not go over 3 NTU, so no boil notice was required. The turbidimeter was calibrated and started getting accurate readings starting 6/14/22. | ||
