Details: | I spoke with Mr. Rose this morning regarding the TC+ result from 7.27.22. Mr. Rose had already taken a repeat sample from the same hose spigot which, as it turns out, is about the only place to take a sample from. The well head does not have a raw water sample port, the kitchen sink has a swivel faucet, and the bathrooms have aerators that are difficult or impossible to remove. Mr. Rose said there has been no recent maintenance on the system, no flooding to speak of, and no intrusion of cattle into the vicinity of the well head. There is however, according to Mr. Rose, a poly rope transiting the sanitary seal of the well casing used to pull up the submersible pump. I mentioned that the rope was one possible route of contamination. Another issue is that the sample spigot is turned at a 45% angle, which may contribute to contamination. I spoke to Mr. Rose about either applying isopropyl alcohol, or flaming the spigot prior to testing. Mr. Rose also thinks there is a possibility he may have handled the sample bottle in a way that could have contaminated the bottle. |
