Details: Background/Problem Identification:

The circuit rider was contacted by Garren Friedemann regarding having a corrosion control method selected and in place if they exceed the MCL for lead again.

Assistance Provided:

The circuit rider received both requested rounds of WQPs from Garren. The results of the WQP tests are summarized and averaged in the table below:

Based on the available data and employing the EPA OCCT’s recommendations for corrosion control, flow chart 1b calls for using orthophosphate, unless there is iron or manganese present. Since Pioneer Villa uses a greensand filter, we assume any iron and/or manganese is either not present or reduced to a low level and that the recommendation of orthophosphate is valid.

Follow-Up Actions Needed:

The circuit rider is available to assist with selection of corrosion control equipment when required.
