Details: | Received a phone call from a tenant of the park at 8am on Monday morning. "The park has no water! What is going on? There has been no water to the park since sometime Saturday". Received several more complaints from tenants and the Latino Community Association asking about what is going on, how it happened, what is being done and how can we get water for flushing toilets, washing and drinking. I called several times and texted before I finally reached the on-site operator Teresa Ramey. Teresa explained that the reservoir pump stopped working on Saturday. She arranged a visit from Abbas Well service on Sunday. They discovered that the power had gone out (one leg of the 220 circuit) on the electrical service to the reservoir pump. Teresa has been searching for an electrician to repair the power with little luck. The park never updated the plumbing of the drinking water system to be able to supply water using the well pumps and bypass the reservior. I sent her an email with the boil water notice; the FAQ boil water notice, and instructions to fill out the forms and let the tenants know what is going on and what is being done to fix the problem. She was instructed to post one on the front door of every tenant and post the notice at the community mail box. I told her to try to arrange temporary water hauling for the tenants and to work with local charities and churches for same. I instructed her to arrange for a coliform sample once the system was back up and working. We also discussed the need to update the emergency response plan, which was noted as a deficiency on last two surveys. Returned calls to several more tenants throughout the day. |
