| Details: | Today phone contact was made with the owner/operator. It was discussed that the triggered well sample and all three repeats came back total coliform positive. When it was explained that the operator should think about corrective actions such as shock treating the well, he explained that this had already been done twice. The most recent shock treatment was 3 weeks ago. The owner explained that a pump in a holding tank failed, it was replaced and then samples were positive for coliform. The then shocked the system and cleaned the tanks and the samples passed. The latest samples indicate perhaps a larger issue at the source. The owner explained that he has already hired a pump company to install UV treatment. It was discussed that plan review may be necessary to ensure the source is ok and that the UV system is approved. The requirement for a level 2 investigation was discussed. This will be performed in about a week and a half. The possible requirement for future plan review was discussed. Firm may be required to install chlorination if they receive another set of positive repeats. |
