Details: | I emailed Brad Daniels on 11-30-22 to add the date lead public education was distributed (11-3-22) and the date that the water system operator (Justin Hartford) e-mailed us the results of their corrosion control treatment evaluation on 11-19-22 that they conducted with the assistance of the SRF technical Assistance Circuit Rider (Dan Vaage, PE with Civil West). Per Justin: the soda ash pump sight glass had been worked on prior to his hire at Hebo and needed the correct part, which he ordered, to make sure everything was running correctly. Also while the engineer (Dan Vaage) was there they determined that they were not getting the correct dosing of soda ash due to low flows during the summer months. They have a 4” flow meter and the dosing pumps would start and stop sporadically and not dose the proper amount of soda ash. Their solution to help with low flows is to look into and order a smaller flow meter so when flow get low their chemical pumps will be able to dose more consistently. Now that the springs are full and running at full capacity their alkalinity numbers have dropped to between 60-80 mg/l and their pH was between 7.4-7.7. Justin plans on taking Lead and Copper samples in the beginning of December to see if the levels have gone down at all. | ||
