Details: | On December 5, 2022, Melissa Thompson-Keifer (City Manager) e-mailed me a corrective action plan for the City of Nehalem to address the two deficiencies found during the 8/31/22 water system survey: 1) the need for a tracer study to verify disinfection contact time in the reservoir and 2) to address lower pressure services served by the North Fork main. Their corrective action plan includes installing a new reservoir effluent flow meter and complete a tracer study by the end of August 2023 to verify disinfection contact time (accurate flow meter readings are required to ensure valid tracer study results). Their plan also includes addressing lower pressures within the Riverview Meadows subdivision experienced at times during higher flows in the North Fork main. A pressure sustaining valve will be added at below the subdivision to sustain pressure for existing connections in Riverview Meadows Phase 1 (to be installed by April 2023). The owner/developer of Riverview Meadows Phases 2 and 3 has submitted a plan to construct a reservoir, pump station, and related controls to serve new development in this area as a long-term solution anticipated to be achieved during the Summer of 2023. |
