Details: | Background/Problem Identification: Woodland MHP had reached out to the circuit rider for further assistance regarding the chlorine residual and operational issues at Woodland. The circuit rider identified several possible operational issues. Assistance Provided: The circuit rider made a site visit and identified the following issues: •There is a bypass around the ion exchange resin. The raw water was measuring 134 TDS with the treated water at 127 TDS. We recommended in a prior support effort that the bypass be shut off. After shutting the bypass off, the finished water unusually increased from a raw reading of 138 TDS to a finished reading of 180 TDS. This may be due to exhaustion of the ion exchange media, coupled with an inconsistent chlorine dosage. •The system has increased their chlorine dosage to increase the residual in distribution. As tested, the distribution residual was 0.10 mg/L. •Woodland is actively seeking a quote from Delta to replumb the water system to put the green sand after the ion exchange resin filter. This should allow more chlorine residual to pass through the system, without the hypochlorite “burning” through the ion exchange resin in it’s current configuration. •The daytank precipitation problem has “solved” itself. This may be due to using a more dilute mixture or perhaps an “off” batch of hypochlorite. Follow-Up Actions Needed: The circuit rider can provide further follow-up assistance if needed. |
